The author's approach to "considering the lobster" is very much resembling of an approach to modern research papers. His observation about the ethics of lobster eating is very logical, and this paper does a good job at presenting many different bits of information that back up both sides of the argument. He seems to know about what he's talking about, mostly because of the many scientific and medical terms he was using especially for something as obscure as lobsters. It was pretty unique how he was able to gather and present a story that somewhat exposed our complaincy to lobster cruelty without sounding too biased. After reading the whole thing I've come to my own conclusion that maybe I was a little too carefree about the reality of what happens to animals, and this opens my eyes a little. Although it did this for me, the reality is if I had a choice today of whether to eat a fresh lobster that was given to me on a silver platter with a side of butter...I don't think I could resist.
